Fagernes Airport

Fagernes Airport, Leirin was built in 1987 and is located 820 meters above sea level, surrounded by beautiful rural landscapes and is found in the heart of Southern Norway. From the airport, all of Norway is easily accessible, including Lillehammer in the east, Oslo in the south-east, Trondheim in the north, and Bergen in the west. It's only a short drive from the airport to several of Norway's scenic countrysides, such as Valdres, Hallingdal and Gudbrandsdalen. Also in close proximity to the airport are many tourist attractions such as Jotunheimen, Beitost¿len, Fagernes/Aurdal, Hardangervidda, Gol, Geilo, Hemsedal and Golsfjellet/Tisleidalen, Lillehammer, Kvitfjell, Hafjell, Lom and Stølsheimen.

As of 1.1.2004, increased airport security has allowed travelers to spend less time in the airport. However, please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure.

The length of the runway at Fagernes Airport is 2060 meters and is therefore capable of receiving the following aircraft:

• Boeing 737 - the whole series
• Boeing 757-200 (189 seats)
• Airbus A320/321
• MD 80 the whole series

The airport also stays open for charter flights outside the normal hours of operation.
